Channel 8 CBS News Studio

Environmental Lights recently completed a comprehensive lighting installation with The Southwest Scenic Group in the Channel 8 CBS News Studio in San Diego, CA. Our low-voltage lighting products helped to establish a compelling studio aesthetic while maintaining a focus on the news presenters.

The set design required high-quality backlighting and accent lighting that could produce a wide range of colors and be completely flicker-free, which is critically important for any lighting on camera. After considering the requirements, our lighting engineers decided MaxRun 4-in-1 RGBA would be the ideal choice. The additional amber LED node in our MaxRun strip light creates tones and hues that were previously impossible to achieve with a simple RGB strip. We also provided the StudioPro 24 Channel DMX Decoder to eliminate flicker while making dimming and color-changing a breeze.

Lighting from Environmental Lights elevates the overall atmosphere of the studio, enabling a more engaging and impactful news delivery. The Southwest Scenic Group, whom we worked with on this project, is pleased with the dynamic look of the set. We are thrilled to have played a part in creating the Channel 8 CBS News Studio that will be seen by thousands of viewers every day!
