The Highley House - Wynwood, Miami
The Highley House is designed to make a bold statement in the iconic Wynwood district of Miami. Wynwood is known for its funky art galleries, stylish bistros, and late-night bar scene. Environmental Lights lighting products were integrated by David Guinn to bring this 12-story mixed-use building to life, reflecting the artistic and creative spirit of the area.
Due to this installation being on the outside of a building in the heart of a bustling Miami neighborhood, the lighting products needed to be extremely durable and able to withstand the elements. Our Eluxtra™ ProFlex Neon product line was the ideal choice under these requirements. With an IP68 rating and injection molded ends, we could be confident that these products would continue performing reliably regardless of the conditions they faced.
The Enviromental Lights team worked closely with David to create customized runs of Eluxtra™ ProFlex Wide Top LED Neon – RGB in specific lengths for this installation. “Wide Top” refers to a product profile with an integrated diffuser that is wider and taller than you’ll find on our standard LED neon products. This simulates the look of traditional neon and significantly increases the angles from which the light is visible as it can now be seen not only from the front but also from the sides.
The result is a dynamic neon mural that brings life to the Highley House while matching the look and feel of the neighborhood around it. We are proud to have played a role in such a unique and captivating display. Thank you to David Guinn for his artistic talent and to The Related Group for commissioning this project!
