Chevalier Theatre
Port Lighting was tasked with designing and executing a permanent LED solution that would preserve the visual integrity of the theatre while delivering enhanced creative control, smooth dimming, and long-term reliability. The project team selected Environmental Lights Cove Wash 4-in-1 PixelControl - Dual Bend - RGB+6500K , paired with advanced control and driver technology with Advatek PixLite T8-S Mk3 Long Range Controller, and Advatek PixLite R2F-S Long Range Receiver, to meet the venue’s technical and aesthetic goals.
Since completion, the results have been significant. Chevalier Theatre has dramatically reduced its electrical load by replacing nearly 2,000 incandescent lamps with highly efficient LED tape, using only a fraction of the original power. This improvement is matched by what City Theatrical describes as an “immeasurable increase in color flexibility, consistency, and atmosphere throughout the space."
Environmental Lights supported the project with a comprehensive lighting package, including detailed 3D renderings and pixel-control layouts to map the theatre’s cove architecture. The installation features 1,950 linear feet of PixelControl Dual Bend LED tape, delivering rich, tunable color and smooth dimming across the venue’s curved cove sections.
The system is controlled using Advatek PixLite T8-S Mk3 Controllers and PixLite R2F-S Receivers, enabling dynamic, pixel-level control and seamless integration with the theatre’s existing infrastructure.
