The San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo desired fully programmable lighting that would appear as flowing water on the ceiling of their Spineless Marvels exhibit. For the result to be most effective, it was important that the wiring and fixtures blend flawlessly into their surroundings. Our engineers created a custom version of our Eluxtra™ ProFlex PixelControl Wide Top LED Neon with black siding and combined it with a black anodized mounting channel and clips to achieve the desired effect. These lights are controlled by the Enttec Pixelator, which we also provided in a sleek black finish. The result is a lighting installation that blends seamlessly into the ceiling, adding an element of movement and excitement to the exhibit, which is experienced by up to 4 million visitors each year!
Peoria Museum – Decoys Masterworks Exhibit
In designing this exhibit, it was essential to select high-quality LED products that would thoroughly and accurately highlight each piece of extraordinary craftsmanship. At the same time, we had to consider anything that could cause deterioration to the artifacts, such as UV or IR radiation. Our team worked with the museum, providing a variety of prototypes to ensure the final solution exceeded expectations.
Neutral White 2216 TruColor LED Strip Light was eventually selected as the primary lighting product. The Environmental Lights Custom Team then cut the strip light to size and installed it into our CS108 Channel System with a diffuser to ensure light is evenly dispersed throughout the display. Additionally, for ease of installation, our custom team installed end caps, connected MiniClick leads with MiniClick Distribution Blocks, and included 96 Watt 24 VDC Adapters with Dimming Knobs to power the installation. This in-house customization provided the integrator with a simple, plug-and-play final product.
Cross Pointe Worship Center
Environmental Lights teamed up with Strata, a company specializing in house of worship renovations, to install our commercial-grade REVI downlighting system. For Cross Pointe, this consisted of 101 driverless 10,000-lumen LED fixtures powered by 27 remotely located REVI power supplies. In planning the installation, our team evaluated the space and prepared a lighting design, which included renderings and heat maps, to ensure that the fixture layout would illuminate the worship center exactly as intended. The result was dramatically improved light coverage across the entire auditorium that yielded an 85% reduction in power utilization.
