The Research and Development District (RaDD) is downtown San Diego’s newest life science mixed-use development. Spanning eight acres and occupying six city blocks, this district is set to be the most significant urban commercial waterfront site along California’s Pacific coast. Environmental Lights is proud to have our lighting prominently displayed in one of these contemporary buildings.
Following the theme of scientific discovery, San Diego based firm Tecture Inc. designed a cutting-edge light fixture to appear sleek yet complex. The Environmental Lights Custom Team helped bring their design to life by cutting 72 pieces of 2700K Continuous LED Strip Light into precise 7-foot segments with pre-configured lead lengths. The pieces were then sent to Tecture, where they were seamlessly installed into specialty aluminum housings with diffusers.
The result is a unique light fixture that thoroughly illuminates the space while alluding to the overarching concept of science and innovation. We look forward to experiencing this exciting new development when it opens to the public!
