Not too late to light your tree
So you've saved your Christmas tree decorating until the last minute? Fear not! You still have time to trim and light the perfect Holiday tree, especially if you take these tips from HGTV. The Home and Gardens network asked Cathy Barnhardt, floral displays manager of Biltmore Estates in Asheville, North Carolina, her expert advice for easy and beautiful tree lighting. She suggests always lighting from the top down and focusing on smaller sections, rather than circling the tree.
If you start from the inside back toward the tip of the branch, you get a more evenly lit tree.
"To get the lighting evenly placed on your tree, step back, squint your eyes to make things blurry and look for dark spots," suggests Barnhardt.
If you want a truly original look that's also friendly to the environment, consider swapping out your old incandescent string lights for LED Christmas lights from Environmental Lights. They offer a wide variety of string lights, including LED 3 Channel Chasing Lights, to make your tree truly sparkle.
