This covered JC bulb is IP65 rated, which means that it is protected against water jets, but not submersible, so you can use it for landscape lighting.
The Halco ProLED series is among the best available, and has been winning awards longer than most companies have been making LED bulbs. The Halco ProLED PAR38 won the prestigious Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M)
2011 Product of the Year Award and the PAR30 won the
2010 Product of the Year Award. High flux (brightness), great color, superb dimming performance and terrific value.

Dimming notes: Use Lutron Diva (DVELV-303P) or Skylark (SELV-303P) Electronic Low Voltage dimmers. We saw performance of about 8%/28% (measured/perceived) in our tests of those dimmers. They may possibly flicker a bit at the very bottom unless you use several bulbs. We did not see any flickering in our tests, though. All dimmers will struggle with such a light load, and additional bulbs will improve performance. The best performance we found was on Leviton Vizia (VPE06-1) Electronic Low Voltage dimmer but we don't sell it. Dimming 12 volt JC bulbs always depends to a certain extent on the transformer in the luminaire, so results may vary. This bulb may not be dimmable on all transformers. We do not recommend LED/CFL, Magnetic Low Voltage or incandescent dimmers for this bulb.
