The new BR30 from Halco is perfect for downlighting because it has a broad beam. We like them in hallways, kitchens, dens and bedrooms. The Halco ProLED series is among the best available, and has been winning awards longer than most companies have been making LED bulbs. The Halco ProLED PAR38 won the prestigious Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M)
2011 Product of the Year Award and the PAR30 won the
2010 Product of the Year Award. High flux (brightness), great color, superb dimming performance and terrific value.

Dimming notes: This bulb works well on all LED/CFL dimmers, with excellent performance at around 0%/5% (measured/perceived) on Lutron Diva (DVCL-153P), Skylark Contour (CTCL-153P), and Ariadni (AYCL-153P). Based on price and performance, we recommend any of the LED/CFL dimmers we sell. We found good compatibility on all ELV dimmers, except Lutron Vierti (VTELV-600M) due to an insufficient load during testing. Amongst ELV dimmers, we recommend Lutron Maestro Wireless (MRF2-6ELV-120) for the best performance, with ease of wireless dimming control. We saw performance at around 0%/2% on this dimmer. Lutron Diva (DVLV-603P) 15%/39% and Maestro Wireless (MRF2-6ND-120) 0%/5% Magnetic Low Voltage dimmers are also compatible with this bulb. Lutron Nova T (NTLV-400VA) and Leviton Illumatech (IPM06-1) MLV dimmers, Lutron Radio RA2 (RRD-6NA) and WattStopper Universal (DCD267) Phase Adaptive dimmers are also compatible, but we do not sell them. LED/CFL and some MLV dimmers do not require a neutral wire.
