The PAR has a clear face, versus the R series, which has a frosted face.
Use a PAR for outside or high-visibility spots, such as retail showrooms.
Reflectors are directional. CFL's and LED's are the best technology. CFL's are currently brighter, but LED's use hardly any power, and will eventually replace CFL's. LED's are the best for color, and we have plenty of those to offer.
