Some LED bulbs are very compact lengthwise, which is great for saving space; however, if you're replacing an old halogen with an LED, you may find the face of the LED bulb is too far recessed into your ceiling can or other fixture.
You have 2 choices: adjust the socket position in your fixture, or use a socket extender, which we sell.
Option 1) To adjust your fixture, turn off the lights so you don't electrocute yourself. Unscrew the old bulb. Many fixtures have a little wingnut you can loosen so you can slide the socket vertically to adjust position. Loosen the wingnut, pull the socket toward you and re-tighten the wing nut.
Option 2) Use a socket extender to add about 1.25 inches to the length of your bulb. Just screw it onto the end of the bulb.
