Dimming notes: Highly recommended: LED/CFL dimmers. Be sure you adjust the low-end trim control to remove undesired behavior when using Lutron Diva (DVCL-153P) or Skylark Contour (CTCL-153P). We saw 11%/33% (measured/perceived) in our tests. Lutron Credenza plug-in lamp dimmer (TTCL-100H) has no low-end trim, and will dim the bulb to around 19%/44%. Some magnetic dimmers also work nicely. Leviton Sureslide (6613-PL) dimmed at 10%/32%. Lutron Skylark (SLV-603P) dimmed at 13%/36%, but you should get the less expensive LED/CFL Skylark Contour (CTCL-153P) instead.
For wireless control dimming, the Lutron Maestro (MRF2-6MLV) is great at 4%/20%. If you have more than 10 or 15 bulbs on the circuit, get the higher wattage, higher cost (MRF2-10D-120). All the Electronic Low Voltage dimmers we tried worked well, but they tend to be more expensive and require a neutral wire in the dimmer's gang box, which some older construction does not have available.
